Terms and Conditions of British American Beer Company Tours 


We are very pleased to welcome you to what we hope will be one of the best beer adventures of your life!  As is the case with any tour, the rules of insurance, prudence, and common sense compel us to spell out a few key items in black and white to ensure everyone knows what they are signing up for.  So please take a few moments to carefully review the following terms and conditions before you book your tour with us.  They limit the British American Beer Company’s (“BABCO’s”) liability as the operator of this tour, and they outline the conditions under which this tour will be conducted.  The payment of your deposit or tour fee and your electronic acceptance of the Terms and Conditions Signature and Release Form below represent your acceptance of the terms and conditions as follows. 




Your deposit to reserve a seat on a tour is payable at the time of registration, and the balance will be due 60 days prior to the commencement of the tour.  If registering within 60 days of departure, the full amount of the tour is due at the time of registration.  These amounts are indicated on our website, and also on the invoice that you will receive during the registration process.  We accept payments online via PayPal or through your credit or debit card.  We are not able to accept cash or personal checks for payment. 


If your personal circumstances prevent you from attending the tour, we strive to make the cancelation process as easy and fair as possible.  If you need to change your plans, just let us know in writing (e-mail is fine) as soon as possible, and we will provide you with a full refund of the money you have paid, minus any amount that we have already paid out on your behalf to secure hotel and coach reservations.  If a tour is cancelled by BABCO prior to its departure, you are entitled to receive a complete refund of any money you have paid to us for the tour as of that date. 




BABCO does not include or book air travel for its tours. It is your responsibility to get to the starting point of the tour, usually our first hotel, unless otherwise noted in the itinerary.  Travel home is also your responsibility, although we will do our best to facilitate your transport back to the airport at the end of the tour.  Should you have any questions about selecting your arrival and departure times or arranging airport transfers, please let us know. 


Important:  On occasion, if we do not receive enough registrations for a particular tour, we may choose to cancel that tour.  To avoid being stuck with an airplane ticket for a tour that gets cancelled, please purchase refundable tickets or hold off on purchasing your airplane tickets until we have notified you that your tour is confirmed to go. 




BABCO does not provide travel insurance, but we suggest that you strongly consider purchasing it from one of the many providers online prior to your trip, as it can provide you with protection for costs associated with lost luggage, refunds for airfare if you need to cancel your trip, and even healthcare while travelling abroad.  Terms and conditions of individual policies can vary greatly, so please be sure to shop around and read the policy provisions from the insurers carefully.  You may also want to check with your credit card company, since they sometimes provide travel benefits to their members that may limit or eliminate your need to buy additional travel insurance elsewhere. 




The amount of physical activity required to participate in our tours can vary, but in general, all tours will require you to be able to do a fair amount of walking, carry your own luggage, climb stairs, and generally get yourself around.  Please disclose any issues that may impact your ability to physically keep up with the tour group at the time of registration.  We can discuss your situation and determine if it is possible to accommodate any special needs that you may have, and if any additional cost may be involved in doing so (e.g., additional taxi bookings, etc.). 




If your tour is taking you outside of your home country, please make sure your passport is squared away.  Generally speaking, border authorities may require that your passport be valid for up to 6 months following the last day of the tour, and have sufficient blank pages to make room for stamps.  It can take several weeks to get your passport renewed or have pages added to it, so please plan ahead. 




It is recommended that you travel as light as possible and keep your luggage down to one medium sized bag and one carry-on bag.  This will help ensure that we don’t get too cramped in our coach, and also keep you from getting too overburdened as you move your bags in and out of the hotel rooms we will visit during the tour.  And don’t even think about bringing a suitcase without wheels! (but you already knew that one, right?) 




BABCO covers gratuities and service charges for all meals included in the tour.  However, there may be other situations where social norms or your own desire to be kind to others may motivate you to tip another service provider (e.g., bell boy, brewery tour guide, bar tender, etc.).  These additional gratuities are not included in the cost of the tour, and are always at your discretion.  Because tipping standards can vary greatly from one country to another, please feel free to ask us if you are unsure about whether a tip is expected in a given situation, and if so, how much is considered “normal.”  But again, whether – and how much – you choose to tip is entirely up to you. 




Itinerary details are continually evolving and will be e-mailed to you closer to the departure time of the tour.  In the meantime, the sample itinerary listed on the tour page of the BABCO website will give you a reasonable plan for what to expect.  We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary, hotels, restaurants, brewery tours and other attractions as forces out of our control dictate, or to be able to take advantage of last minute opportunities to enhance the tour experience.  The spirit of the tour shall remain the same, as will our #1 goal, which is to make sure that you, and your tour-mates have an awesome experience. 




If your tour is taking you to a country or region that you have not previously visited, please know that standards can vary in the amenities that are offered by hotels.  Rest assured that we will have checked out any hotel well in advance of booking it for the tour to ensure that it meets our high standards of comfort, cleanliness and safety.  Some hotels and inns are small, independent, family-run establishments, and some are chain hotels you may be more familiar with.  European hotel rooms can be smaller than those in the US, and not all hotels have televisions or elevators.  Complimentary Wi-Fi is available at most hotels and many businesses, but is not guaranteed.  Be sure to check with your mobile phone provider before the trip to secure (and understand the fees for) international service if that is important to you while you are on the road.  It is our top priority to make sure that your accommodations during the tour are comfortable and enjoyable.  If there are any amenities that are particularly important to you, please speak with us about it in advance of the tour. 




If you are traveling solo and do not want to pay the single supplement fee for your own hotel room, we can attempt to match you up with someone else of the same gender in a twin room.  This service is on a best efforts basis and cannot be guaranteed.  You must inform us in advance of any physical conditions or personal issues that may negatively impact someone else’s enjoyment of the tour (e.g., snoring).  If any issues occur during the tour that make your partner unwilling to continue to share a room with you, we reserve the right to change your booking to a single occupancy room and bill you for the difference in cost on one or both rooms.  The best option for sharing a room is to take the tour with someone you know, with whom you are confident you can peacefully share accommodations. 




We take a lot of photographs and video during the course of the tour, some of which may be used for BABCO promotional purposes on our website, social media, direct marketing and other vehicles.  By signing up for the tour, you agree to the use of these images for these purposes without any compensation to you.  If you don’t agree you must opt out by checking this box:                            or inform us in writing prior to the commencement of the tour. 




OK, here is the real “fine print” that our lawyer and insurance company insists that we include.  You will find it is all pretty standard for any professionally run tour.  Please read it carefully and let us know if you have any questions. 




British American Beer Company (“BABCO”) acts as an agent for the various independent suppliers that provide hotel accommodations, transportation, food and beverage service, sightseeing, activities, or other services connected with this tour.  Such services are subject to the terms and conditions of those suppliers.  BABCO and its respective employees, agents, representatives, and assigns accept no liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, loss, accident, illness, delay, or any other incident which may be caused by the negligence, defect, or default of any company or person in performing these services.  Responsibility is not accepted for losses, injury, damages or expenses of any kind due to sickness, weather, strikes, hostilities, wars, terrorist acts, acts of nature, local laws, or other such causes.  All services and accommodations are subject to the laws and regulations of the country in which they are provided.  BABCO is not responsible for any baggage or personal effects of any individual participating in the tours/trips that it arranges for its customers.  Individual travelers are responsible for purchasing a travel insurance policy, if desired, that will cover some of the expenses associated with the loss of luggage or personal effects. 


By registering for this tour, you (the tour attendee) hereby agree to the following two statements:   




“I acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied for the trip/tour designated as the British American Beer Company (“BABCO”) tour identified on my order form/invoice.  I understand that I may travel to remote countries and areas that are inherently risky and that may include tours of breweries operating hazardous equipment and other activities associated with foreign and domestic travel.  I am prepared to assume the risks associated with this trip/tour including:  forces of nature; terrorism; civil unrest; war; accidents; and transportation including land vehicles, boats and aircraft.  I also assume risks associated with altitude, illness, disease, physical exertion, and food and alcohol consumption, knowing that access to evacuation and/or suitable medical supplies and support may not be available.  By registering for this tour, I agree to take full responsibility for my own actions, safety and welfare.  I also understand that I will be a member of a group and will conduct myself with the respect and politeness of a prudent person, and I will not act in a way that will endanger the group or myself.  I understand that if I engage in inappropriate behavior or if I fraudulently represent myself as fit for this trip, I may be removed prior to or during the trip at my own expense, with no expectation of any refund;  and, 




“I hereby release and discharge British American Beer Company LLC, British American Beer Company Ltd., and each of their respective members, shareholders, managers, directors, representatives, agents and employees (each, a “Releasee” and together, the “Releasees”) from and against any and all liability arising from my participation in this trip/tour.  I agree that this release will be legally binding upon myself, my heirs, successors, assigns and legal representatives;  it being my intention to fully assume all risk of travel and to release each of the Releasees from any and all liabilities to the maximum extent permitted by law.
